WHAT IS ZOOM WHITENING?

Zoom Whitening is an amazing whitening process. It’s an in office process that requires about an hour to an hour and a half to complete. The results are really great on that. We usually will see several shades of change in that hour to hour and a half. The process involves patient coming in. We isolate the teeth and we put a special solution on the teeth and then we use a special light to activate that solution and change the shape. And again, we see several shades of change with this.

It works, we believe, better than the take home whitening, because of the short duration, we see very little sensitivity associated with it. Sometimes we’ll have some sensitivity for maybe 24 hours, and then the sensitivity is completely gone. With the take home whitening, because of the repeated exposure day after day to that whitening solution, we see that the sensitivity is much greater, and therefore the compliance is less. So a lot of people will start a whitening procedure. If it’s a take home procedure, and then never complete it. So they never really get the full effect of it. So we feel like this is a much better process for most people.

We rarely have anybody that doesn’t change several shades during the process. Maintenance of that is pretty easy afterwards. It requires just maybe once a year using a little touch up kit, which really has no sensitivity associated with it. But maintaining that bright, healthy smile is easy to do once the process is complete.
